The Cisco C-NIM-8T= is a high-density, Layer 2/Layer 3 configurable Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Module (NIM) designed for the Cisco Catalyst 8000 Series Edge Platforms. It provides 8 ports of 10/100/1000 Mbps (RJ45) copper connectivity, seamlessly integrating LAN switching and WAN routing capabilities. As a direct upgrade for legacy ISR 4000 modules, it offers enhanced performance, security (MACsec), and flexibility for enterprise branch and SD-WAN environments.
8 x 1G RJ45 Ports: Supports 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T for full auto-sensing and backward compatibility.
Line-Rate Layer 2 Switching: Wire-speed switching on all 8 ports for efficient local traffic handling.
Dual Mode Ports: The last 2 highest-numbered ports can be natively configured as Layer 3 WAN/routed ports, matching the feature set of the router's built-in ports.
